This Front Load Washer Door Lock Assembly locks the washer door and tells the control board that the door is closed. If your washer door no longer latches, the wash cycle will no longer start, and replacing this part may alleviate the issue. When removing the old door lock, make note of how the plugs are inserted into the switch. Push the tabs and disconnect the three harness plugs from the old lock. Then you can connect the large plug to the new door lock. To connect the remaining two plugs, you’ll have to remove the top of the washer to reach them. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washer and novice repair experience. You must unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing.
